Transport Focus has been a'surveyin...

Findings here:

https://www.transportfocus.org.uk/news/back-to-basics-what-passengers-want-from-rail-services/

There's a lot of it so not ploughed though it yet. It feels that there needs to be an executive summary. Something that immediately leapt out is that people for some reason quite like good connections, and good links between stations and onward public transport. Something that also leapt out is the data not really identifying the strengths of through trains versus connections, but perhaps the DfT» (Department for Transport - about) instructed them that it's not a good time to ask that question.

Also, it'll be interesting to read findings from people who no longer use rail, or who are not users of rail in the first place.

Roger Ford has challenged Anthony Smith, head of Passenger Ficus, to difine what they mean by “value for money” in their report.

He’s yet to reply, and I suspect, won’t.
