OK ... it's pretty much a cancellation as far as the TransWilts is concerned  Embarrassed

17:02 Worcester Foregate Street to Southampton Central due 20:48

This train has been terminated at Worcester Shrub Hill and restarted from Westbury at 19:40.It will no longer call at: Ashchurch For Tewkesbury, Cheltenham Spa, Gloucester, Stonehouse, Stroud, Kemble, Swindon, Chippenham, Melksham and Trowbridge. This is due to a train fault. Last Updated: 08/12/2009 17:14

But to be fair, this is much rarer than it used to be.  Glad I'm not waiting at the station; when I was last up there the information point was 'out' again so anyone waiting will have a LONG wait!

153369 failed at shrub hill with engine problem.

And today ....

20091209   17:02   Worcester Foregate Street   20:48   Southampton Central   rolling stock issues, knock-on effect
Full report: "This train will be formed of 1 coach instead of 2 between Gloucester and Westbury. This is due to an earlier train fault. Last Updated: 09/12/2009 15:36 "

Are 'they' dropping a 153 at Gloucester for some reason, then?  From Swindon, the 1 car will be fine; a quarter to seven p.m. train is long after most people have gone home for the day, so they'll all have used their cars already  Wink

I don't normally report / notice short trains, but when only 2 northbound and 2 southbound run each day, you tend to notice cancellations / shorter trains on three days in sucession. And the timetable change doesn't even happen until the weekend  ... is stock on the move already?  What will it look like next week?

P.S. Please, sir.   Can we swap 2 x 2 car services for 4 x 1 car services a day ... there seem to be plenty of 153s around Grin  Grin  Grin
