Need I sell the chine, cliffs, beaches and pier at Bournemouth? The day return fare is expensive but this IS icuded in the FoSS so you'll want to use one of those and make multiple journeys to different places. From Melksha, change at Westbury and Southampton Cental. If you are doing just a single day trip, buy yourself a return to Southampton and then a return to Bournemouth!

Freedom of Severn and Solent ticket

The Freedom of Severn and Solent ticket offers you 3 days out of 7, or 8 days out of 15 train travel across the area shown on the map. Travel as much as you like after 09:00 in the morning (all day on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays).

The ticket is not available online or from the ticket machine at Melksham Station, so if you start from there on the first day, join the train and buy it from the train manager. If you start on your first day at a station with a staffed ticket office, you must buy it there before you join your very first train.
